What We’re Buying for the Food Bank This Week (September 12 – September 18)
This is amazing news and an unbelievable blessing, as two ‘angels’ have stepped forward and asked to sponsor our continued shopping for the Food Bank at the North Gwinnett Co-op in the amount of $2,000 each!!! As with the first challenge, in which we turned $2,000 into more than $11,000 worth of food, we will contribute our time, gas, coupons, boxes, tape, and most everything else, and the benefactor will cover the net spend after coupons and rebates.
Please remember that the needs are great all around the country. Our shopping will help some 300 families, but this Co-op and other food banks need your help. Each week we will post a list of the deals that we are targeting so that you too can use couponing to help the needy. Since this has turned into an ongoing program, we have decided to name it:
With regard to the shopping opportunities, this is a changeover week at Publix with a new Grocery Advantage promotion starting on Saturday, 9/14/13. Here are the best deals for food bank staples that we have spotted:

- MC $1.00/1 Skippy Peanut Butter product 15oz+, SS 9/15/13
Peanut Butter is the #1 request of our food bank! This is a fantastic price for peanut butter, $1.50 versus the regular price of $3.29 to $3.79. There might be some other deals in this flyer, and we’re busily tracking down coupon locations!
Newman’s Own Pasta Sauce, 23.5oz to 24oz jar — $2.00 on shelf, $1.00 after coupon
- MC $0.50/1 Newman’s Own Pasta Sauce, SS 9/15/13

Another good deal on peanut butter! If you haven’t done the ConAgra rebate, then you can get back a $10 gift card for buying a total of $30 in participating brands like Peter Pan by 9/30/13.
